Here, try this while I get the leeches!
To celebrate catching up and completing my commission list, (and it's subsequent reopening) drawing something not female, no webs, and no boobs. ^^ Just sitting down and drawing, for some reason a Plague Doctor was what happened.

Interestingly the reasons why the doctors wore these masks were because at the time the people of the time heavily believed that disease was something caused by bad smells. Germ theory hadn't really come round yet so during the times of the black death (at least i think it's during that time) These doctors would go around with these masks which would cover their faces, the beaks themselves had sweet smelling flowers and other plant matter that was pleasant to the nose, which made them believe that they were safe against disease. Obviously that wasn't the case, there are multiple stories about how many years ago when the london river was infested with sewage, the smell got so bad that they took drastic measures and put what i believe was lime covered towels over their windows to mask the smell. Rather interesting stuff.
